The Ultimate List of Christmas Cocktails and Mocktails – Best Day of the Week

They say Christmas is a time to be merry. And we are merriest with a drink in hand, spending time with those we love (oh and good food and gift giving). Christmas has certain flavours associated with it. Like spices, oranges, cranberries, ginger – and eggnog. Can’t forget the eggnog. We have a variety of cocktails in our Christmas arsenal. In fact, we’d like to think there’s one for just about every holiday occasion. So, we decided to make it easy for you and round them up down below.

Winter Sangria

Some Christmas cocktails can be super heavy and decadent (hello, eggnog), but we wanted to create something that was light, refreshing. So, we concocted a sangria with all our favourite winter flavours: orange, cranberry and cinnamon. Grab the recipe here.

Perfect for: a daytime cocktail hour, hosting a Christmas gathering, wine lovers

Mulled Wine

Mulled Wine

Everyone loves a good cup of mulled wine during the holidays. And our mulled wine recipe is pretty good. It’s loaded with spices, Triple Sec, oranges and cranberries. You won’t be able to put it down. Grab the recipe here.

Perfect for: a movie night in, a potluck, an outdoor walk or event

Christmas Punch

Christmas Punch

We were determined to create an epic big-batch cocktail to make holiday hosting easier – and Christmas Punch was the winner. Made with vodka, sparkling rose, ginger simple syrup, cranberry ginger ale, soda and garnished with sliced persimmon, whole cranberries and pomegranate seeds, it’s crisp, refreshing, not to sweet and festive AF. Grab the recipe here.

Perfect for: hosting a holiday celebration (our recipe serves 10!),  a girls night in, rose lovers

Spiced Rum and Eggnog

DIY Spiced Rum with Eggnog

Spiced rum is the spirit of Christmas (see what we did there?). It’s super delicious and is the perfect addition to eggnog, which you gotta have at least one sip of every December. The only downside of spiced rum is that it’s just so sweet. When you add it to eggnog, which is already chock full of sugar, you’re holding a hangover in a cup. So, we decided to make our own spiced rum with absolutely no sugar added. It was surprisingly easy and we would totally take it over Captain Morgan’s any day. Grab the recipe here.

Perfect for: Christmas Day afternoon, sharing as a hostess gift, anyone who loves eggnog

Chestnut Old Fashioned

Chestnut Old Fashioned

I know what you’re thinking: the old fashioned can’t get any better. Well, don’t be so rigid until you take a sip of this baby. It’s a perfect holiday cocktail – it’s slightly sweet, nutty and a little spicy too. Grab the recipe here.

Perfect for: a fancy(ish) holiday gathering or dinner party, an after dinner sipper, Christmas Eve

Les Incompetents

Les Incompetents

We love Home Alone so much we were inspired to pay homage to the film by creating a cocktail pairing. It’s a twist on a classic French cocktail, featuring cognac, Grand Marnier and sweet vermouth. After a couple of these you literally will be Incompetent. Grab the recipe here.

Perfect for: fans of Home Alone who also enjoy a stiff drink, lovers of French spirits, Christmas Eve nightcap

Sleigh Ride Christmas Mocktail

The (Safely Fastened) Sleigh Ride (Mocktail)

I was pregnant during Christmas last year so I got inventive with a mocktail that did the holidays justice. Because sipping on just water or ginger ale will create serious FOMO. This one has all the flavours of Christmas in one glass. Grab the recipe here.

Perfect for: abstainers (pregnant friends, designated drivers, you name it!), pre-teens and teens, cocktail-free holiday hangs

Santa's Secret

Santa’s Secret (Mocktail)

Named after one of our all-time fave holiday tea’s from David’s Tea that’s a blend of Chinese black tea, peppermint leaves, vanilla and tiny candy canes. It 100% invokes the holiday spirit with every sip and assumed to be Santa’s secret weapon for staying up all night to deliver presents. Grab the recipe here.

Perfect for: a post-dinner pick me up, tea lovers, fans of mint
